Bluehost or Wealthy Affiliate Which is Right For You?

Bluehost is a web hosting company that is owned by Endurance International Group. Collectively between Bluehost and its sister companies, HostMonster, FastDomain, and iPage they host over 2 million domains.

Their headquarters is in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States of America. Founded in 2003 by Matt Heaton the current CEO of the company is James Grierson.

When dealing with reviews I always try to give background facts to help my readers with the company particulars. Giving my readers only the facts of what the company has to offer then, of course, my own opinion of how I feel about the services.

Reviews are always based on a personal opinion of each company whether they are providing you with a product or service and how good these are to use.

I personally like to look at the cost factor when doing reviews comparing these to what other companies offer at either lower prices or similar costs for a better product or service.

Everyone has their own opinions but taking the time to do research knowing that there could be a better product or service available for less or provides you with more takes time.

Not all of us have the time to do this vital research prior to grabbing what we feel is the best bang for our buck. Today’s review of Bluehost will be compared with what Wealthy Affiliate has to offer, think you will find it interesting.

Bluehost Pricing

The introductory offers are nicely discounted for the first year, but watch out when renewal time comes around the prices are going to double or more for the next year hosting.

Reading all the fine print is a necessity when choosing a hosting company because they are cheap and shared hosting you need to be cautious of due to limited resources on a server for your website.

Just one small website can end up costing you hundreds after the initial discount period is over. Possibly you could outgrow the amount of limited space on a shared server of what you are allotted that is another reason pricing will go up.

All the hosting plans above do include the above benefits making them great during that first year of discounted savings. I did notice one thing you need to be made aware of with the domains.

Transferring a domain to Bluehost that you already own there is a one-time charge of $149.00 and the renewal rate on the domain name will be $15.99 when your renewal date comes around.

To me, this seems very steep and is not listed out in the open in any of their pricing or what is included with the yearly costs.

Bluehost offers VPS Hosting Plans which the screenshot below gives you the plan’s pricing on these:

Virtual Private Server hosting known as VPS is a website hosting environment that allows for resources such as RAM and CPU to be dedicated to your account.

Because you are not sharing space with other websites this gives you greater Disk Space to grow your business plus extra security for your website files.

Lastly, Bluehost offers Dedicated Website Hosting at the following monthly plans:

Dedicated Website Hosting is exactly what you would think you have basically you own server away from anyone else. This gives you the control to use the server without affecting any other users or them affecting you.

A dedicated website hosting gives you the highest level of resource allocation, privacy, and control.

All of these plans are great for experienced website owners that know everything about building a website. But what about those who have no clue to even get started?

I will be honest I could not afford the yearly so I choose the monthly plan. Considering I am able to run my online business for $1.61 overhead cost per day I know of no one else finding that type of deal.

Bluehost you must pay for the full term of the plan you pick up front for hosting. Wealthy Affiliate with taking the monthly membership you can cancel at anytime prior to the next month billing and not fight for a refund.

With Bluehost, there are a few things to be aware of concerning refunds if you are not satisfied. According to their terms, here is what does and does not fall under that 30-day guarantee:

• You can only get refunds on the web hosting cost, not any other products like domains or other add-ons.
• A $15.99 fee will be deducted if you received a free domain name in your plan.
• Any requests after 30 days will not be refunded.

It’s not exactly a no-questions-asked policy like we have seen from some hosts. So make sure you are going to be OK with those points before signing up.

In Conclusion

Sure some of those hosting companies might have some tempting first-year deals then just add on all those savings when it comes time for renewal in year two.

Wealthy Affiliate has not had a price increase in over 14 years (considering the cheap cost of membership and what it is really worth) try finding a better deal any place anywhere.
